Our Beautiful Saviors

The night of the funeral, we knew we would need some serious time with Lily and Charlie to help us heal. Well, the two little beauties did not disappoint. We posted about how they were able to make us feel better the other day, but I just got some pictures from that night that my mom took. I'm really, really glad she gave me these. It was a fantastic night for us and I'm glad there are pictures.

Charlie had some major gas that night. While I was holding him, my hand was on his butt to keep him propped up, so I could feel every little burst. So when he took his hand and covered his nose, it was as though he was trying to mask the smells!

Lily just after her bath. Her nurse wrapped her up to keep her warm while she was being moved to the scale for weighing. How beautiful is the Bug???

Dad gum he's a cutie. When did he get so handsome???

Charlie was wide awake that night and he couldn't have been more curious about things. He looked at me like an old man who recognizes a face but couldn't place it.

Lily out of the scale getting weighed. She grabbed a finger on each of my hands and pulled me down towards her-- that felt great! And then Brooke came over and the instant Lil' heard her mommy's voice she let go of me and started searching around for Brooke. Quite possibly the most adorable thing this cynic has ever seen.

My brother John's better half Rebecca took this one of us with Charlie. It came out really well because we were so happy to be there and Charlie was being so great that night.

Could those babies get any sweeter/cuter?! Even though they're still so tiny, they're starting to look like little chubby babies! :) Great pictures. Put a smile on my face...what great memories from that day.

I am sure those babies are like medicine for your souls. I know you cherish each second- your love for all of your children is so obvious.

Thinking about your family all the time. I am 25 weeks and 5 days with triplets and I know that is when you had your beauties. Reading your story is an honor.

You know, it's amazing looking back at all the photos taken over the last couple weeks...I feel that suddenly Lily and Charlie look more "grown up" now, more like little people than "preemies." Of course, Mom and Dad, you both look great, too...almost as cute as the kids!

Oh my goodness. The babies are getting huge! Okay, well that's a bit of a hyperbole, but they are getting so big-- and GORGEOUS!!! These are some of the best pictures yet-- and you both look so happy here-- some well deserved moments. I am so happy that Lily and Charlie are being so awesome and helping you through this time. Congrats!

You don't know me-I am in SC and just heard about your blog yesterday. I gave birth to triplets last Aug at 28weeks. We lost our son, Andrew, when he was 3 months old-unexpectedly to complications from emergency surgery for what we found out was Medical NEC. My son and daughter just turned a year old last week and are doing great. I have been where you are-if you ever need to talk-feel free to email me at momandmunchkins@gmail.com

I will keep your family in my prayers.

Happy 2 months Lily and Charlie.
Thank you for sharing such a personal time in your lives....the video, the eulogy and your tears.
Through those words and photos I sit here an cry...thinking it is just so wrong to lose a child...but sadly it happens. I can't think of two people that seem more amazing and dedicated to being wonderful parents. I pray that Lily and Charlie will continue to give you strength...I pray that you can see Annaleigh shining through their eyes. I pray for healing

Love, the last one too!

Although I know you still have much pain, sadness and heartache, your eyes don't look so sad now when you are smiling.
