Happy homecoming, Charlie!

One year ago today, after 95 days in the NICU, we took Charlie home! I still remember walking out of the NICU and all the nurses standing behind the desk and waving to us. (Of course, Joe and I were back the next day to visit Lily, but Charlie had been sprung!) So we're declaring today Charlie Day! Right now he's celebrating by pulling all the toys out of his toy bucket and throwing them at his sister - sounds like a party, right?

Saying goodbye to two of his favorite nurses, Sue and Mary.

All ready to go!
At home in his own pack n' play!
Snuggles on the couch with Daddy.

This made me cry. What a difference a year makes, cliche or not. And it's funny to see how the Charlie a year ago still looks so much like today's Charlie. :)

And look at him now -- words cannot express my happiness and good wishes for all of you!

Look at how tiny he looks in that pack and play! And now he and Lily are throwing balls at each other in it :)

A miracle!

What good timing...I was just coming to your blog to read about the last few weeks for Charlie and Lily in the NICU, since Andrew is coming closer to his due date and we are beginning to think about bringing him home. We are at 95 days now...his due date is in 20 days.

All three of your kids have provided me much inspiration during this long journey, so thank you for documenting their experiences so well!

Happy Coming Home day, Charlie! What a difference a year makes!

I thought this special day was coming up soon!! Wow, what a year! Look how far they have come! It just keeps getting better, doesn't it? I've been a Charlie & Lily "stalker" LOL for while now & they are just such happy, sweet, beautiful, amazing little miracles! You guys should be proud of you parenting skills!! Lily's big day will be next & tell her to get her toy throwing arm ready!!!
