Happy Father's Day

I had to start of today's update by wishing Joe a happy Father's Day. Joe, you are already a wonderful daddy and the best husband in the world. We'll have a much better Father's Day next year, I swear.

Otherwise, today was another good day, considering. The babies are still doing very well. My ultrasound this morning showed all three doing their breathing and wiggling all over. Their heart rates were nice and strong and Baby A's heart rate was perfectly consistent the entire time he was on the monitor. Good work, guys!

I was excited this morning when they took my IV out. I'm getting my antibiotics orally now and they said I don't need the fluids as long as I'm eating and drinking normally. I was thrilled with my freedom for all of 5 minutes, until the doctor came in and started pushing those damn leg compressors again. This time I cried, but gave in. I've had them on most of the day, give or take a few breaks I've given myself. I really hate them. I feel like I've been very good at dealing with everything so far and I deserve to be a big old baby about SOMETHING, so I choose the leg compressors to turn my frustrations on. Hmph.

I also need to thank all our friends and family who are supplying us with treats and food. Lauren brought me Funfetti cupcakes yesterday which Joe, my nurse and I all enjoyed. Today my mom showed up with a care package from Colleen of all my favorite Amish treats from Lebanon - whoopie pies and fresh hard pretzels. Mmmmmm. Those I'm not sharing. And Joe's mom made us stromboli so Joe and I got to enjoy a dinner that wasn't from the hospital cafeteria. I'm eating as much as I can to try to fatten up the babies (I'm trying to be healthy at the moment and am eating a yogurt), so all the food is greatly appreciated.

That's it for today. I'm exhausted today - a lot of night time interruptions last night so I'm ready for bed.

Good job everyone... Keep breathing and wiggling and flip flopping all over in MOMMY'S BELLY...

You're doing great Brooke. Give those little buttercups a huge hug and kiss from me. As best as you can...

Happy Father's Day Joe. The beginning of a lifetime of extreme
joy and pride and admiration.

Love Always, Auntie :) xoxoxo

My advice is to wear the leg chains during the day so that you can sleep without them. trying to sleep with those bastards on is hard!

Glad to hear all is going ok. I found your blog from Multiples and More and have been following it since. Keep chugging along...you and your babies are in our thoughts and prayers.

I was able to wear the leg prisons only at night, you might want to try that compromise. It varies by hospital how they treat it. The first gave me 2 injections a day (which really hurt and left huge bruises and would have been really bad if I had to have an emergency c/s, which I did) so I would take the leg prisons any day. Good luck..bake those babies.

I'm sorry your Father's Day was a bust but I'm glad to hear you're still doing well.

I'm praying for you and those babies and look forward to more and more positive updates from you and Joe!

I saw your post on the Preemie board (I'm also a SAIF'er, screen name is lovemy2boys), and I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you and your three little ones. It's SO GREAT that they've managed to stay in for a full 3 days since your water broke! I have 30 weeker twin boys, and they are now 4 months old and doing fantastic! Best of luck to you!!!

finally caught up on your posts...what a whirlwind! You poor thing! Anyway, keep those leg compressors on (as much as you hate them)...they could save your life! (i.e. clots could possibly form in your legs if you don't use them and then loosen and go to fun places like your heart/lungs...sorry to scare you). Anyway, glad to hear the babies are doing well! Good job momma! I'll keep praying for you and them! Happy Father's Day to Joe!

Hello. I have 4 month old triplet boys and from what I've read so far on your blog we have very similiar stories. I went from being very active to complete hospital bed rest at 23w6d. Check out my blog if you time- http://merrittsplus3.blogspot.com

Regarding the leg compressors- as bad as they were I wore them 24/7 for 6 1/2 weeks straight. I ONLY took them off to go to the bathroom/shower. It paid off, I recovered very quickly from the long bed rest. You'll need your strength once you're out of the hospital and the babies are in the NICU.

I was only able to get one round of steroids at 24 weeks. When they started the second round they quickly decided it was time for the babies to come out instead. Oh, and indocin. I was on it on and off for 6 1/2 weeks and loved it. It made life so much easier.

Take care of yourself and let me know if you have any questions from someone that was just in your shoes a few short months ago.

I just wanted to tell you that this is an amazing page that you two put on here. I have a sister that is 34 weeks pregnant with triplets. I am so exicted to meet them. She is having 2 boys and a girl. Congrats to you both!
