Happy homecoming, Lily!

One year ago today, after 99 days in the NICU, we brought Lily home! I had said from the beginning that I hoped to have both babies home before their due date and before we hit 100 days, and wouldn't you know that Miss Lily made it home just one day shy of both! It was so exhilarating to be taking her home and knowing that our twice daily visits to the NICU were over. It was also bittersweet, as it was sad to leave the nurses and doctors at St. Peter's who had become like our second family, and a little scary - we were now responsible for TWO babies?!?! But it such a wonderful feeling to be at home that afternoon with both Charlie and Lily there, just the way it was meant to be!

Lily in her car seat, ready to go home. See how excited she was?
Reunited!

WOW MOM and DAD ! Lily and
Charlie!!! I'm so so happy to see this year become so complete for you all !! I get so teary eyed seeing all the pictures and thank God that you are all so happy and healthy. Naturally there is a missing link but not in the hearts and minds of all that have seen you get to this point. You are family in every sense of the word and you and hubby do all you can to give your children a wonderful life full of love and devotion. I praise your commitment .

Brooke and Joe....I dont think you know me, but Joe your mom met me when I was a little girl and she was probably about 18-19 yrs old in Wildwood! I used to write (USPS mail) when I learned how to write, then your parents got married! We did keep in touch, but then would lose touch every once in a while. Now I found your mom on facebook, and just spent about 2 wonderful hours reading your blog. All I can say is Brooke and Joe you are definitely two of the strongest young adults I know. To go thru what you have been is amazing. It makes me count my blessings even more! I have a granddaughter no Lilly (2l's) and a newborn Grandson, Brody!
I cant even imagine what you and your parents went thru! I will continue to pray for all of you. I so hope to keep in touch with your parents!! Love, Diane DeAngelo
PS Joe, Charlie looks a lot like you when you were a baby. I am not sure about Lily! :-)
