K and L Week (and some other stuff)

This week Charlie and Lily learned about the letters K and L. We read Is your Mama a Llama? and sang "Mary Had a Little Lamb." We made paper kites for our art project, and worked on identifying knees and legs. Both babies already knew "knees" pretty well, because Nana taught them the "Tickle, Tickle on the Knee" song. My great-grandmother Mom-Mom used to play it with my sister and me and now Nana does it with Charlie and Lily. She pulls up their pant leg and tickles their knee with her finger while singing, "Tickle tickle on the knee, if you laugh you don't love me." I remember being little and trying SO hard not to laugh when Mom-Mom did it to me because I didn't want her to think I didn't love her. Charlie and Lily really enjoy the game, and now as soon as they see Nana they pull up their pant legs!

We also let the babies try lollipops for the first time. Lily wasn't interested in the slightest, but Charlie was soooo happy with his. He cried when I took it away.
Lily dressed in leopard to keep with our theme.
"Mommy, please, I am SO not in the mood for pictures right now."
Charlie and Lily have recently started reaching for things that catch their interest on TV. The other day Sesame Street was on and they were both grabbing for the screen during Elmo's World. "Mommy, I'll gladly wear this silly hat as long as you keep giving me cookies while I do."
I bought these pajamas for Charlie and Lily because they reminded me of the matching polar bear pajamas they had last winter.
What a difference a year makes!
I love this picture! Last night I got home from doing a Pampered Chef show (thanks for hosting, Lauren!) while the babies were eating dinner. Charlie was so happy to see me that he was laughing and laughing. It was awesome.
