Close to crawling

Charlie and Lily have mastered sitting and are moving on to their next adventure - crawling! We have no "official" crawling yet, but they are certainly trying. Charlie is a master of scooching backwards - he'll keep going until he can't go anymore (which is usually when he gets stuck under the couch). Lily only just learned how to get up on her knees and pull herself forward, and now she won't stop doing it. She'll sit for about five seconds before turning herself over onto her knees and attempting to crawl. She moves her arms forward, then sort of works herself into a yoga pose to edge forward. She manages to travel fairly far this way, but she seems determined to get it "right." Joe and I are planning to start baby-proofing very soon!

Showing off her practice crawl.

Learning to crawl apparently makes Lily giddy!

"Okay Charlie, you've got the keys and the money. I've got my mirror. Let's hit the road!"
Story time with Daddy.
Most weekend mornings, Joe stays with the babies while I go to the gym. Charlie likes the male bonding time.
Maybe it's because she doesn't have much hair, but Lily is NOT a fan of my hair dryer.
Most evenings after dinner Joe and I take the babies for a walk around the neighborhood, but when it rains we'll sometimes let them watch a Baby Einstein DVD before bed. It amuses them to no end - they laugh, shriek, and sometimes "talk" to the puppets. Here's Charlie all ready for bed, but still glued to Baby Mozart.
Charlie and Lily are still enjoying their splash pool - and modeling their swim wear. Pool party! Charlie and Lily love splashing with their friends, Michael and Daphne.

Too cute! I remember those days of almost-crawling- I would sit with the video camera rolling for 20 minutes, thinking ANY moment it was going to happen. Then, when you put it down, it does:)

I mostly read your blog through my Google Reader feed but I wanted to come over and comment. Charlie and Lily are just too darn sweet and adorable! I love seeing all the pictures!

Thanks for taking the time to update the blog. I love keeping up with you guys via the blog! In 2, 3, 4 years (and so on) when you go back to look at old posts, you'll be amazed how much you've forgotten and what BABIES they were. It's such a wonderful way to remember all the little things that are so easily forgotten. Especially for bad mommies like me that haven't finished the baby book purchased for my 4 and a half year old let alone my 2 year old. :::hiding in shame:::

Anyway, keep up the good work, keep sharing those sweet faces! :)

It is so funny to me that Lily has about the same smile in every picture except that dreaded hair dryer!

Glad the kids are still doing so well...

Those are still the cutest babies! Are they always that happy or do you just show the "smiley" pictures? Love, love, love the picture of Joe and the babies in storytime!

I've never commented before, but I've followed your families journey since your early pregnancy (found your blog through the bump). My name is Stephanie and I live in South Jersey. My husband and I have triplets that are just about to turn 6 months old. I just wanted to tell you that your family is so beautiful. I have loved watching Lily and Charlie grow stronger and strong. The picture of Lily trying to crawl just brought tears to my eyes. God Bless your family. You are so strong and you can see the love in your photos.
