Lily also made some great progress today – she moved from the high humidity to the low-flow cannula! So far the Bug is doing extremely well on this and is on a very low setting. We are quite proud of our little girl! Lily is taking the bottle a few times a day, so her next goal is to be able to take all of her feedings by bottle and move in to a crib of her own.
Both Charlie and Lily had follow up eye exams today, and both are still showing some unresolved issues due to their prematurity. These issues can be corrected with laser surgery if need be, but Dr. Hiatt assured us that in most cases they resolve on their own. They will both have another exam in 2 weeks to see how things are looking.
So it was a busy day for Charlie and Lily, but was full of positive steps forward. Now they just need to keep up this momentum until their next move is out of the NICU and home with us!
Daddy reading Lily "But Not the Hippopatamus," which just happens to be her mommy's favorite book ever.
Seriously, could Charlie be any cuter?

Hooray! They are growing up... They'll be off to college in no time. ;)
Yay Charlie!! I remember the day my little Emily got to move to the open crib, it was a GREAT day...and yes, to be able to just scoop her up without having to open up the isolette and organize all the wires, etc...was just AWESOME! It made me feel even more like her mommy that I could just pick her up whenever I wanted to!
Great progress for both babies today! Congrats!
They look so great!! And that last picture of Charlie... I want to kiss his little face! So sweet. :)
Congrats Charlie! I knew you could do it :-) Really though, this is so exciting to hear//see... Congrats you guys!

I'm so glad that they are doing well! And I love Sandra Boynton books...."But not the Hippopatamus" is my fav too!
that's awesome!!! Moving to those cribs is a BIG DEAL! I'm always talking to my babies and telling them to eat more by mouth...I'll send a little speech Lily's way. "Sweet, Lily. You're doing such a good job eating. Now eat more every time and we'll get that nasty tube out of your mouth, I know you don't like it." Hope that helps! ;-)
Way to go, Little D's!!!!! They couldn't be any cuter! xoxoxo
Way to go Charlie!!! Out into an open crib!! Getting closer and closer to coming home!!!
Brooke! I love the picture of you pointing at Charlie- that is so great!! Charlie and Lily are beautiful- lots of love, Holly M.
