We kicked off Thanksgiving on Monday, since we made the holiday the theme of our learning week. We read Five Silly Turkeys and Happy Thanksgiving, Biscuit, and did the finger play "I Have a Little Turkey" - that one was a big hit with Charlie and Lily. For art we made paper turkeys. On Thanksgiving Day, Charlie and Lily watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade for the first time, although they weren't super interested. Maybe next year! Then they had a visit from Grandma and Grandpa and had a lot of fun laughing and playing with them.

In the late afternoon, it was time to head over to Crackers' house for Thanksgiving dinner. Crackers had a bunch of toys waiting for Charlie and Lily, and they had fun playing before dinner.
Our attempt at a Thanksgiving family picture.
Sitting down to dinner. This is my side of the family - my mom, dad, Nana, sister Jill and her boyfriend Aaron. Joe's aunt Patty hosts dinner for his side of the family, and when Charlie and Lily are a little older and stay up a little later we hope to be able to hit up their Thanksgiving too!
Every Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember, Nana has bought ice cream turkeys from Carvel for her grandchildren. This year, Charlie and Lily got their first ice cream turkey!
"Mmmm...now this is my kind of turkey!"
